Letter from the President:
Dear Neighbors:
Another annual meeting come and gone. It was great to see so many of you there and if you missed it you missed a great meeting. We hope you’ll join us next year.
I’d like to announce the Board of Directors for the remaining year 2002 and the upcoming year 2003. Welcome new director, Stephanie Kenney to the board for a two-year term. She has lived in Walden Woods for seven years and has been active in our community since moving here. Stephanie steps into the position as member-at-large and is the new Architectural Committee Chairman.
Owen Kittredge remains as our very competent Secretary for another year. Gary Grenfell has graciously accepted to continue in his position as our efficient Treasurer and Gail Sillers takes the Vice President position. I’ll continue as board President for the next year.
A big thanks to departing Board member Nancy Whitmer for her help and advice these last two years.
Feel free to call on any Board member if you have questions regarding the Walden Woods community. Also, board meetings are open to all members, please feel free to attend at any time.
The minutes from the Annual Meeting will be published as soon as Owen can get them typed up and reviewed by the Board. They will be posted on the web site for viewing.
During the meeting Les Walshaw suggested to the membership of having a special assessment to help pay for improvements and repairs to the front entrance. Les explained that most of the irrigation needs replacing and continued vandalism has taken its’ toll on the electrical and some plants. (Vandals sprayed RoundupÒ on the plants and left the evidence for Les Walshaw to find). The membership agreed to have the Board levy a special assessment of $20.00 for each lot for the next two years. That said, when you receive your annual dues billing in mid November for 2003 the billing will reflect the regular assessment of $150.00 and $20.00 as the special assessment for front entrance improvements and repairs. The board would like to thank the membership for your support, we’ll make every effort to spend your money judiciously.
Wishing all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving and Holidays.
